The police in Ibadan on Thursday arraigned one 19-year-old Opeyemi Tiamiyu for alleged wandering and unlawful possession of hemp.
Tiamiyu, whose residential address was not provided, appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court.
The police charged him with wandering, unlawful possession of cannabis sativa (hemp) and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp Foluke Adedosu, told the court that Tiamiyu, on March 10, at 10. 00 p.m., at Oke-Ado, Ibadan, conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace.
She submitted that the defendant constituted a nuisance.
She said that the alleged offences contravened Sections 249(d), 250(6) and 430(i) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Magistrate I. O. Osho granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until June 2, for hearing.
