A picture of the DSP kneeling down for the President while paying him homage.
However, a Twitter user simply identified as Nimrod with the handle @GhenhisKhan said with the gesture, democracy has bowed to dictatorship in Nigeria.
He wrote: “There is nothing to celebrate today
“As for President Muhammadu coming to equity through the back door, ushered in by those who only were pretentious, I say to them:
*It is finished!*
“11th June is a day in history.
The day Muhammadu Buhari finally conquered Nigeria!
“The only thing they are celebrating today is the victory of yesterday — The day democracy bowed to a Dictator, as Ovie Omo-Agege kneels down in total submission. Nothing else by way of writing is of use…..perhaps the wizened writers to their usual condescension and conditioning”
On his part, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri said with the DSP gesture, the Ninth Assembly fairness is not guaranteed.
Continuing, he alleged that the newly inaugurated National Assembly will be at the whims and caprices of the President.
“The current 9th National Assembly doesn’t have leaders. Leaders are elected, or emerge naturally because their colleagues respect them. These guys were appointed by All Progressives Congress APC. At best, we have Muhammadu Buhari’s HOUSEBOYS heading the National Assembly
“Those comparing @Theresa_May bowing to Prince Williams and the Dep Sen President Omo-Agege bowing to @MBuhari are comparing apples to oranges. May bowed to Prince William because he represented the Queen at an event. Buhari is not our Monarch. Buhari is our EMPLOYEE.”
