See El-Rufai’s Response to TrackaNG’s Call Out on Dilapidated Kaduna School

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has reacted to TrackaNG’s call out on Twitter on the dilapidated state of a primary school in the state.
TrackaNG, a group which track and give feedback on public projects in Nigeria, identified the school as LGEA Primary School in Lere Local Government area of the state.
The group had called out the Governor to  expediate actions on the unpleasant condition of the school.

“Dear @elrufai, this is the dilapidated state of LGEA pry sch,Ung/Pah Lere LGA, Kaduna State, where over 600 pupils learn in an unpleasant condition. We urge you to expedite actions to direct the responsible authorities to renovate the school. #FixPublicSchools #CommunityChampion” TrackaNG wrote on its Twitter handle.

However, while replying to tweet, the Governor explained that the message has been redirected to the Chairman of the said Local Government.
Local government Chairmen, El-Rufai said, were responsible for primary schools in the constitutions.
Furthermore, he noted that the state government does not control the local government councils nor touch their funds.

He wrote: “Dear @TrackaNG. We appreciate your efforts. Your message has been re-directed to the Chairman Lere Local Govt who is responsible  for primary schools in the Constitution. The State Govt assists with matching grants via SUBEB. We neither control elected LGCs nor touch their funds.”
