The nominated chairman of the National Hajj Commission was born 58 years ago. He is a Bi-lingual who is fluent in English and Arabic.
A passionate Islamic activist, Hassan has been involved in mobilizing the Muslim Ummah for societal relevance as well as the realization of the national objectives, building bridges across ethnic and societal divides as a Mentor, Scholar and Organizer.
He attended Arabic and Islamic Institutions in Nigeria and Egypt.
He graduated from Nigerian Law School Lagos (BL) 1996 after Studying Law at the Lagos State University where he bagged his (LLB) in 1994. This was after he had obtained his first degree in Business Administration 1984 from the University Of Lagos (UNILAG).
He also attended The Polytechnic Ibadan, where he obtained his Cambridge A/level Certificate in 1981 while he bagging his O-levels Certificate 1979 from Lagos City College.
Hassan was the former Chairman/Amir Hajj State of OsunMuslim Pilgrims Welfare from 2010-2018. He was also appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor On Religious Affairs from 2010-2018.
He was the Principal Counsel, OLAKUNLE HASSAN & ASSOCIATES from 2006-2010. He was also the Chairman/CEO Distinct International Properties Ltd from 2001-2010.
He has served as the Chief Executive Tafsan Tours & Travels (Official Hajj & Umrah Operator of Nasirullahi Fathi Society of Nigeria) 2004-2006.
At one time, Hassan was Head of Chambers; P.O Jimoh Lasisi(SAN) from 1999-2003 and completed his NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) at Deloitte Haskins and Sells (Accounting Firm) in 1985.
Other positions he held include: Chairman Board of Trustees FAJR Centre (A Standardised Centre for Memorization and Teaching of Islam & Arabic 2019-date. Chairman Forum of State Chairman & Secretaries of Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Agency 2014-2017; Director of Dawah of The Companion (Association of Muslims in Business and Profession) from 2004-date; Executive Secretary NASFAT (Nasirullahi Fathi Society of Nigeria) from 2004-2006; Amir of The Companion Lagos District (Association of Muslim in Business and Profession) from 2004-2006; Member of the Committee of Ulama Lagos State Pilgrim Welfare Board Hajj Exercise from 2000-2002;Secretary; Africa Secretariat (World Assembly of Muslim Youth) from 1986-1990; National President MSS Nigeria (Muslim Student Society of Nigeria) from 1986-1988 and Amir, MSS, Lagos State Area (Muslim Student Society of Nigeria) from 1984-1986.
Hassan is a recipient of several awards from the National Hajj Commission for the State of Osun Pilgrims Welfare Board.
He has attended several conferences and seminars on Hajj as a representative of Osun State in London and Malaysia and he is also a Member, Nigerian Bar Association.
