The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa on Thursday night paid a courtesy visit to the former President, Goodluck Jonathan.
Atiku, a former vice president led a delegation to the visit in Jonathan’s Abuja residence on Thursday.
“Last night, I led a delegation alongside my Vice Presidential candidate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, on a courtesy visit to former President Goodluck Jonathan at his residence in Abuja,” Atiku tweeted
In his separate post, Okowa, who is also the vice-presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, said the discussion with Jonathan was centered on how to recover power from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the next year’s general elections.
He wrote, “Last night, alongside our Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, we had a great meeting with our former President, H.E. Goodluck Jonathan.
“There, we discussed our plans to #RecoverNigeria with His Excellency”.
Earlier this week,the former President,Goodluck Jonathan had advised PDP on what to do if the party really want to restle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

“It is Dr. Jonathan’s wish that the PDP is able to resolve its internal crisis, unite all members and have a good showing in the forthcoming 2023 elections.
“We wish to however point out that it will be difficult to achieve this aspiration if some forces in the party continue to engage in mudslinging, disinformation and manifest tendencies that negate the values that are dear to loyal party members.
“Former President Jonathan had served this country meritoriously at both the state and federal levels.
“He has now been out of office for almost eight years and Nigerians have come to trust and love him for who he is.
“While in office, he had no enemies to fight. He still has no enemies to fight, now that he has become a private citizen,”former president Jonathan had said
