President Bola Tinubu has hailed the Super Eagles over their victory over Algeria and qualification for the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
NPO Reported that Nigeria had on Saturday evening outclassed Algeria with 2-0 victory to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament in Morocco.
Second-half goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams saw the Super Eagles get their revenge against the Foxes who knocked them out of the 2019 edition of the tournament.
Reacting to the victory in a post on his X handle shortly after the match, Tinubu praised the team’s display and assured them of national support.
“Brilliant performance… inspiring,” the President wrote.
“Go, Super Eagles! You have the support of all Nigerians,” he added.
Nigeria will now face hosts Morocco in the semi-final on Wednesday for a place in the final scheduled for January 18 in Rabat.
