Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has secured the governorship ticket of the Accord Party after emerging winner of the party’s primary election.
NPO earlier Reported Accord’s declaration of Adeleke as its sole candidate for the party’s primaries barely 24 hours after his announcement of his membership with the party.
In a swift development, the party would on Wednesday held its governorship primary election in Osogbo with Adeleke emerging as the party’s flag bearer for the 2026 governorship election.
The Osun governor secured the ticket with 145 delegates’ votes.
According to reports, party supporters and stakeholders had trooped out in large numbers, singing and dancing as they awaited the arrival of the governor.
Adeleke was received by mammoth crowd of supporters who displayed banners and placards bearing his name and campaign slogans, as they formally accepted him to the party.
As captured in a video shared on X, the governor’s announcement as the winner of the primaries was met with loud cheers from supporters who hailed him.
Adeleke would also join in the celebration as he waved the Accord flag to the supporters.
