31 Die in Rivers Church Stampede

At least, 31 people have been confirmed dead during a stampede at a church in Port Harcourt ,Rivers State Capital.
The stampede happened at The Kings Assembly located inside the GRA of the Capital city.
Spokesperson of the Rivers Police, Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed that the church was holding a crusade which ran into the early hours of Saturday.
The church had witnessed a huge crowd as a result of a palliative programme for which many had come to benefit from.
According to the police spokesperson, some persons had broken into the place where the materials meant for distributed were kept. As at the time of filing this report, NPO Reports gathered that no fewer than another 30 people were being attended to in different hospitals.
