The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has pledged support for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms in Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a post on X by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Thursday.
As contained in the post, IMF President, Kristalina Georgieva, made the pledge to Tinubu during her team’s visit to the Nigerian President on Wednesday evening in Rio de Janeiro.
“IMF president Kristalina Georgieva and her team visited President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday evening in Rio de Janeiro and pledged strong support for the economic reforms of the Nigerian government.” Onanuga wrote.
Recall that Tinubu has travelled to Brazil for the G20 Summit.
Tinubu, had in his address called for the support of Africa by leaders of developed nations, warning that a neglect of Africa is a disaster to humanity.
He also advocated for permanent seat for Africa at the UN Security Council.
