President Bola Tinubu has arrived at the National Assembly for the presentation of the 2025 Budget.
The presentation which was initially slated for yesterday was postponed by the President to Wednesday.
Nigerian lawmakers comprising of members of Senate and the House of Represnetatives had earlier arrived at the Green Chamber as they await the President before commencing the joint plenary.
Following the President’s arrival, the session commenced with the National Anthem.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, thereafter invited the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Sen. Abdulaziz Yaradua, to give the Islamic opening prayer while a member of the House of Representatives rendered the Christain prayer.
Meanwhille, in a post on his X handle, Tinubu stated that the 2025 budget is one of restoration which seeks to consolidate key policies to restructure Nigeria’s economy.
“The 2025 budget that I present today at the joint session of the National Assembly is one of restoration.
“It seeks to consolidate the key policies we have instituted to restructure our economy, boost human capital development, increase the volume of trade and investments, bolster oil and gas production, get our manufacturing sector humming again and ultimately increase the competitiveness of our economy.” the President wrote.
