Embattled former wife of the Ooni of Ife, Prophetess Naomi Silekunola, has reportedly been hospitalized after collapsing while in detention at the Iyaganku Police state, Ibadan.
Naomi was arrested alongside seven others over the tragic Ibadan children funfair which claimed 35 lives with several others injured after stampede ensued at the Islamic High School, Bashorun area of the Oyo state’s capital city.
Reports confirm that Prophetess Naomi collapsed on Friday and was rushed to the Police Hospital in Eleyele, Ibadan, for urgent medical attention.
A senior hospital official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, verified her hospitalization, disclosing that she was admitted alongside Oriyomi Hamzat.
“She is responding to treatment,” the source stated, while emphasizing the sensitive nature of the case.
The embattled former queen had organized the event under her Women in Need for Guidance and Support (WINGS) Foundation in partnership with the popular Ibadan radio station, Àgídìgbo FM.
Unfortunately, the event would not go as planned as mammoth crowd stormed the venue before 5:00am with several attempts by the radio station to prevent further influx of residents failing.
Meanwhile, NPO earlier reported another stampede incidents at Abuja and Anambra states which had claimed many lives with several other injured.
