President Bola Tinubu has celebrated Prince Bayo Osiyemi, spokesperson to the first civilian Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, ahead of his 75th birthday.
The veteran journalist, popularly called “Charming Prince” will clock 75 on Tuesday.
Tinubu, in a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, lauded Osiyemi’s contributions to Lagos as a prominent All Progressives Congress leader in Mushin and his commitment to democracy and the development of the state.
Osiyemi, who served as the Chief Press Secretary to Alhaji Lateef Jakande (1979-1983), was also a former Chairman of Mushin Local Government, and a newspaper editor.
According to the statement, he laid the foundation for the council’s growth during his tenure as the LG Chairman, thus advancing the state’s development.
He also served as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Matters, forging good relationships with the state’s top monarchs and engendering smooth working relations between the government and traditional institutions.
Tinubu, according to Onanuga, celebrated the media veteran on the special occasion while acknowledging his contributions to Nigeria’s public relations and media practice.
As family, friends, and associates gather to honour the septuagenarian, the President prayed for Prince Osiyemi’s continued well-being.
“May the Almighty God grant him many more years of vitality, joy, and fulfilment as he continues to inspire future generations,” President Tinubu says.
