Men of the Nigerian Air Force have, on Thursday morning, invaded offices of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) in Lagos, assaulting staff over power outage.
As captured in different viral videos on X, the military personnel were seen at the IKEDC office on Ago Palace Way, Okota, Isolo, forcing over seven staff members to their knees.
It was gathered that the action of the military personnel was informed by IKEDC’s disconnection of the power supply to the Nigerian Air Force logistics base in Ikeja on Wednesday.
In retaliation, the personnel stormed the IKEDC office, effectively crippling operations in the electricity distribution company.
In another video seen by NPO Reports, military men were seen barricading the head office of IKEDC in Ikeja, a stone throw to the seat of the government in Lagos.
Some official patrol vans belonging to the Air Force were seen blocking part of the entrance into the company’s office.
In one of the videos, a voice could be heard saying that some staff members had been arrested while some were beaten with office items of the company damaged.
The incident has reportedly instilled fear among company staff, with many hiding for safety.
As at the time of filing this report, the IKEDC was yet to make any statement on the matter.
The Nigerian Air Force was also yet to speak on the development.
