The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has commenced payment of N77,000 monthly allowance to Corp Members.
This is coming barely a week after the NYSC DG, Brig. Gen. Olakunle Nafiu assured Corp members of the commencement this month.
Nafiu gave the assurance while interacting with Corps Members in Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) last week Thursday.
He had maintained that the Scheme and Federal Government are responsive to their welfare and would continue to ensure that their well-being is accorded maximum priority at all times.
“With effect from March, you are going to receive the sum of Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira as your monthly allowance.
NYSC is good at record keeping and l can assure you that your money will be paid. The Nation and the Scheme appreciate you”, he said.
NPO Report gathered that some Corp members confirmed receiving N77,000 alert on Wednesday while some are yet to receive theirs
A serving Corp member at Akwa-Ibom, who pleaded anonymity confirmed the new payment to our correspondent.
Recall that the Federal Government had last year July announced the increment of the Corp members allowance from N33,000 to N77,000 months after the introduction of the new N70,000 minimum wage.
