Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has ordered security agencies to arrest and shave heads of residents with dreadlock in the state capital, Minna.
The governor gave the order while addressing stakeholders at a recent event held in the state capital.
As captured in a post shared on X on Tuesday, Bago charged the security operatives to cut the dreadlocks once the individuals are arrested and fine them.
The Niger state governor also charged the security operatives to treat anyone found with weapons as an armed robber.
He urged parents to warn their wards while vowing to prosecute anyone caught harassing security operatives.
“Anybody that you find with dreadlock, arrest him, barb his hair, and fine him. Nobody should carry any kind of haircut again inside Minna. I’m giving you marching order the security agencies.
“Anybody you find with a weapon, deal with him as an armed robber.
“For parents, warn your children, warn your wards. From this moment, it is 100 percent fire for fire.
“Any attempt to harass any security officers is an harassment of Niger state government. We are going to come with full force and descend on you.” the governor said.
Bago further gave directive for the demolition of house found habouring criminals while charging the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and other sister agencies to clap down drug dealers.
“And any house found habouring criminals will be demolished. Bring it down.
“NDLEA, ADC, and other agencies clamp down on drug dealers.
“Niger state is not for useless people. If you can’t take care of your children, we will take care of them for you.” the governor added.
