The statement read; “Earlier today, I joined the Vice President, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, my fellow Governors, and other key stakeholders in the agricultural sector for the official launch of the National Agribusiness Policy Mechanism (NAPM) at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja. The Vice President was represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia.
“In my remarks, I highlighted some of our achievements in agriculture and the strategic steps we are taking to ensure food security and drive economic transformation in Kaduna State. Agriculture remains a top priority for our administration. With over 80% arable land and a youthful, energetic population, we are placing agriculture at the heart of our development agenda. We are shifting from subsistence farming to a structured, mechanized, and market-driven agricultural sector. Our goal is to reposition agriculture in order to effectively tackle unemployment, hunger, and poverty.
“The launch of NAPM is timely. It provides a collaborative platform to align policies, harmonize investments, and share vital intelligence for better decision-making. At its core, this mechanism reflects a powerful principle: States should lead on production and productivity, while the Federal Government supports with policy coherence, trade negotiations, and investment facilitation.”
