The Nigerian Railway Corporation’s (NRC) Managing Director, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, has hailed Lagos State Commissioner of Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, over his dedication and impact to the state.
Opeifa in a congratulatory message on his X handle over the Commissioner’s 52nd birthday on Saturday, expressed his gratitude to Wahab on his leadership and commitment.
The NRC boss wished him success and fulfilment in his endeavours.
“On this special occasion, I extend my heartfelt wishes to you as you celebrate your birthday. Your dedicated service as the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources has made a significant impact, and I am grateful for your leadership and commitment to our dear state.
“May this year bring you continued success and fulfilment in all your endeavours.” Opeifa wrote.
Born on the 17th of May, 1972, Tokunbo Wahab began his career as a lawyer in 2003 under Jiti Ogunye & Co. Associates.
He joined Paul Usoro and Co. as Senior Counsel in 2003 before later workinf as a Senior Associate at Aluko & Oyebode from 2005 to 2009.
Prior to his switch to politics, Wahab founded Wali & Ace Legal Practitioners in 2019 where he served as Managing Partner until 2019.
His political journey began with his appointment as the Special Adviser on Education to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in 2019.
His commitment and integral role in Sanwo-Olu’s first tenure earned him an elevation to the role of the state’s Commissioner for Environment following Sanwo-Olu’s re-election in 2023.
He has since displayed proficiency in tackling violation of environmental laws by Lagos residence.
