2023 Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has accused the Federal Government of being responsible for the crisis within the party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Obi made the accusation while addressing his audience at a Coffee Hangout with KayHikers Club on Tuesday in Abuja.
When asked about his inability to resolve the Labour Party’s crisis, the former Anambra state governor held that that crisis was deliberately caused by the government in power.
While failing to prove his claim, Obi recounted how similar crisis had ensued in the PDP during the tenure of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
According to Obi, the late President had then ordered that the problem be resolved while warning the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“What is happening in Labour Party today is caused by the government deliberately. What is happening in Labour Party and PDP is caused by government. We have had a problem in our party before in the past and Yar’Adua was the President.
“I came to him, and he told the then INEC Chairman that I don’t want problem in any party and we were forced to fix it.” Obi said.
