The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has taunted the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Chieftain, Bode George, urging him to stay at home and read newspapers if he is jobless.
This came in reaction to Bode George’s condemnation of the PDP’s National Secretariat sealing by the Wike-led Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
The former military governor had in an interview on Arise TV last week accused Wike of betraying the PDP, stressing that the party brought him to life.
George described the sealing as deliberate and malicious, questioning Wike’s loyalty to the PDP while calling on the party’s disciplinary committee to take action.
Responding the PDP Chieftain while speaking at his monthly media parley on Monday, Wike trolled George, urging him to stay at home if he is jobless.
The FCT Minister talked sown his claim that the party made him popular.
While stating that individuals make party popular, Wike questioned George’s effort in promoting the party in Lagos.
He held that the PDP has never had any lawmaker that emerge winner of election in Lagos since 1999.
“If as old man you have no job, sit down in your house and read newspapers. Bode George said PDP made me. PDP gave me national name. I agree. Party cannot make you.
“You are the one that will make the party popular to win election. Party cannot say you are popular. It is you individuals that will make the party to be popular.
“Look at it this way, I agree that PDP made me.
“Ask Bode George, who did PDP made in Lagos?
“If it is the party that makes, who in Lagos did the party make?
“Since 1999, not one Assembly, not one House of Reps, not Senate, not anything.
“And then you are coming to me who have campaigned and worked for the party to defeat the major party in the state and at National level.” Wike said.
