Akwa-Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has finally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
NPO Reported that the governor had last month confirmed his defection speculations.
Umo Eno while addressing members of his cabinet had cited the PDP’s leadership crisis as reason for his planned defection.
He had also charged his cabinet members to join him anytime he defects or tender their resignation letter.

The governor finally switched party allegiance on Friday with the APC Governors Forum warmly receiving.
The forum led by Imo State Governor, Hope Udozinma, received Umo Eno at the Government House in Uyo.
Following the defection, Udozinma in a post on his X handle held that Eno’s decision to join the APC alongside his supporters speaks volumes about their admiration for and recognition of the bold developmental strides of the Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He commended the governor for taking the bold step while urging people of Akwa-Ibom to stand firmly with him.
“I was pleased to join our party leadership in warmly receiving the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno @_PastorUmoEno, as he officially joined the progressive family, accompanied by a large cross-section of his followers.
“Their decision to align with our movement speaks volumes about their admiration for and recognition of the bold developmental strides of the #RenewedHope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Governor Umo Eno’s entry into our fold marks a courageous and visionary step, one that highlights his commitment to the growth and prosperity of his people. I commend him for this bold move in leadership and urge the good people of Akwa Ibom State to stand firmly with him on this journey.
