One of Nigeria’s foremost business leaders Alhaji Aminu Dantata has died.
The renown businessman passed away in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 94.
The death of the Kano-based businessman was announced by one of his family members , Sanusi Dantata.
He wrote in his X handle, “Indeed, from Allah we are and to Him we shall return!
Pls pray for Alh. Aminu Dantata, who passed away a couple of hours ago in Abu Dhabi.
He was the last surviving child of Alhassan Dantata, (Dantata, himself!)
May Allah forgive him & grant him Jannat-Al-Firdaus, Ameen!”
Dantata was one of the eminent Nigerians President Tinubu had met during his electioneering ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Also confirming Dantata’s demise was Bashir Ahmad, aide to former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari.
Ahmad, in a post on his X handle, described his passing as a great loss to Kano and Nigeria.
“Kano has lost one of its greatest sons and Nigeria has lost a true elder statesman — Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata. A pillar of wisdom, philanthropy, and integrity. His contributions to our nation’s economic and social development will forever be remembered. May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, overlook his imperfections and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. Ameen.” The ex-Presidential aide wrote.
