The residence of former Oyo state Governor, Sen. Rashidi Ladoja, has been flooded with jubilant supporters following the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
NPO Reported that Olakulehin passed away earlier today at the age of 90.
The Oyo state monarch joined his ancestors barely a year after his ascension to the throne.
However, prior to his death, the late king had selected Ladoja as his successor.
This explained the frenzy mood witnessed at the ex-Oyo governor’s residence barely six hours after the passing of Oba Olakulehin.
As captured in a video shared on Facebook, several Ibadan dignitaries and well-wishers stormed the residence of the next Olubadan of Ibadan.
The ex-Oyo governor was also seen exchanging pleasantries with some of notable members in the crowd.
Entertainers and media outlets were at the residence of the incoming Ibadan monarch.
Ladoja, an accomplished businessman and 3rd republic Senator had overtime expressed his desire to become the Olubadan- a title he reportedly considered as his ultimate goal in life.
