The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has confirmed the date and time for the conduct of the state’s local government election.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Commission’s chairman, Bola Okikiolu-Ighile.
As contained in the statement dated 5th of July, polling is slated to commence by 8am and close by 3pm on Saturday.
LASIEC noted that only electorates whose names appear on the Voters Register are eligible to vote in the election.
The statement read in part; “In accordance with Section 41(1) of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission Law, 2008 (as amended), notice is hereby given that elections into the offices of Chairmen of the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas, as well as Councillors for the 376 Electoral Wards of Lagos State,
shall be held on:
Saturday, 12th July 2025
“Polling will commence at 8:00 a.m.
Polling will close at: 3:00 p.m.
“Each voter shall cast his/her vote at the Polling Unit where he/she is registered.
“Only persons whose names appear on the Voters Register are eligible to vote in the election.”
