The Katsina state government announced new date for the burial of late Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, as the deceased’s family rescheduled the event.
As disclosed on Monday by the state governor, Dikko Radda, the burial of the ex-President will hold on Tuesday at his hometown, Daura, following consultations with the Buhari’s family and associates in London.
The governor confirmed this in Katsina on Monday while addressing journalists at the government house, regarding the burial arrangement.
NPO Reported that Buhari died on Sunday at a London clinic where he was receiving treatment, having initially travelled for routine medical check-up in April.
He served as Nigeria’s President from 2015 to 2023, after a distinguished career in the military, including a brief stint as Head of State from 1983 to 1985.
He survived by his wife, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, and eight children.
