Garba Sheu, the spokesperson to late former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has disclosed the venue where the remains of the ex-President will be laid to rest.
Addressing newsmen in Daura on Tuesday, Sheu disclosed that the late Buhari will be buried in his residence in Daura, Katsina State.
He said the decision was made by the State Government and grave diggers have since commenced work as the wait for the arrival of Buhari’s body continues.
“I know that they have left London with the body around 7:48am. We expect them here six to seven hours. When they come, they will land to Katsina and then drive to Daura which is about 40 to 50 minutes.
“Inside the compound here you can see a group of women undertaking the recitation of the Holy Quran to honour the dead.
“The grave diggers are working because the decision of the state government is that the body will be buried within this compound.” Garba said.
NPO earlier Reported the departure of the Buhari’s remains on Tuesday morning and was slated to arrive in Nigeria by 12pm ahead of his burial by 2pm.
While his body is yet arrive as at the time of filing this report, several Nigerian dignitaries has arrived in Daura ahead of the President.
Some of the dignitaries already at the venue include, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun state counterpart, Dapo Abiodun.
Renown Nigerian businessman, Aliko Dangote, have also arrived at the venue as well as former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Members of the National Assembly led by Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, are currently on their way to Daura for the burial of the late former President.
