The Prime Minister of the Niger Republic, Ali Zeine, has arrived in Katsina State ahead of the funeral of late Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari.
NPO Reported the demise of Buhari who died on Sunday at a London hospital after prolonged illness.
In the wake of his death, his successor, President Bola Tinubu, directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to accompany the ex-President’s body back to Nigeria with his burial slated to hold today.
Joining other notable dignitaries to have arrived at the late ex-President’s hometown, Daura, the Niger Republic’s Prime Minister arrived at Yar’Adua International Airport alongside delegates of the neighbouring country.
As captured in a post shared on X, the Nigerien leader was received by Katsina state governor, Dikko Radda, who introduced him to other dignitaries present at the airport.
Recall that the late former President Muhammadu Buhari was renowned for the strong tie he established between Nigeria and Niger Republic.
The relationship between the two West African countries was further deepened by Buhari’s transnational railway project which linked Niger with Nigeria.
Amid controversies, Buhari defended the project as he explained that the Kano- Marafi railroad, will amongst other outcomes, create revenue for Nigeria, and enable the people of Niger Republic enjoy affordable transportation,
