The protests in Sokoto against the arrest of persons suspected to have taken part in the killing of the female student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education Deborah Samuel have turned bloody.
NPO Reports that protesters gathered in the Sokoto metropolitan area after mobilizing against security operatives which include officials of the police and the National Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Tear gas canisters were seen being thrown in different directions as the security agency also traded with caution to avert serious casualties.
However a few persons have been wounded while tension rose on Saturday.
