The Guiness World Record-breaking largest pot of jollof rice cooking feat by Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, nearly recorded a disastrous stampede as thousands of youths besieged the venue of the event.
This was however averted by officials at the Eko Hotel and Suite where the record-breaking event is currently holding.
As captured in a video shared on Instagram on Friday, some members of the crowd were knocked off balance as they forced their way through the gate of the venue.
They were quickly pulled up by the cooking fest officials and other members of the crowd with a policeman also spotted monitoring the crowd surge.
Hilda Bacci had earlier this week announced her plan to embark on the record-breaking feat barely two years after hitching her name in the Guiness Book of Record with her 93 hours 11 minutes cook-a-thon challenge.
With the record broken barely three months after by Irish chef, Alan Fisher, Bacci moved to set another record with the largest pot of jollof cooking.
The event had since attracted massive supporters and celebrities who converged at the venue to witness the renowned chef set the new record.
The feat which would see Bacci cook 250 bags of rice started around 2pm with the chef washing the fabricated large Gino-branded pot.
The cooking however started by 3:30pm with Bacci and her mother pouring about 12 kegs of cooking oil into the pot.
Meanwhile, the event was originally slated to hold at Muri Okunola Park.
It was however changed due to the need for a larger stage to accommodate the huge fans who had shown interest in witnessing the feat.
