Kechi Okwuchi, one of the two survivors of the infamous Sosoliso plane crash, has undergone another skin surgery 20 years after the tragic incident.
Okwuchi announced this in a post on her X handle on Sunday.
According to the post, her return to the theatre marked the first time in six years that she will be having a surgery.
With her last surgery done in 2019, Okwuchi disclosed that she had to go under the knife again for an eye lid surgery.
She said the skin on her eyelids is tight, making her unable to close her eyes or blink properly.
“Currently 3 days post-op from eye lid surgery. The skin on my eyelids is tight, making me unable to close my eyes or blink properly, which started to affect my eyesight, hence the need for surgery.
“My last surgery was in 2019 so it’s kinda weird to be back here after so long lol.” She wrote.
Recall that Okwuchi was among the 110 people on board the ill-fated Sosoliso aircraft which crash-landed at the Port Harcourt International Airport on the 10th of December, 2005.
The aircraft with the registration number, Flight 1145, was reportedly on a scheduled domestic passenger flight between Abuja and Port Harcourt.
A stormy weather in the Rivers State capital city saw the plane slammed into the ground and burst into flames.
Many passengers reportedly survived the initial impact but died in the resulting fire.
Seven survivors out of the 103 passengers and 7 crew members were initially rescued but five survivors later died from their injuries.
Okwuchi was one of the two survivors and also the only survivor out of the 60 Loyola Jesuit College students on board the plane.
