The Students Union Government of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has ordered the indefinite suspension of its President, Ozoagu Godswill, and eight other leaders of the union over alleged connection with the murder of a student within the campus.
This was announced in a statement issued by the union’s House of Representatives on Monday.
As contained in the statement signed by the SUG Speaker, Eze Peter, and Clerk, Onah Joshua, the suspended President was accused of habouring and facilitating cultists’ activities within the campus which recently led to the tragic death of one of the students.
Ozoagu was also accused of weaponising the cultists to intimidate and threatened the lives of principal officers of the House of Representatives.
Other allegations against the SUG President include misappropriation and embezzlement of over N224 million SUG project fund as well as the diversion of additional N40 million from the SUG budget amongst others.

It ordered the SUG Vice President to take over the presidency of the union in acting capacity.
However, the legislative noted the possible invocation of the Principle of Necessity to install the SUG Secretary-General as the acting president should vice president turned down the request on account of her alleged personal relationship with her suspended principal.
