The nightmarish scene of another devastating fire outbreak at Central Plaza in Mandillas, Marina area of Lagos, has extended till Wednesday morning as traders still watch millions worth of good burnt by fire.
NPO earlier Reported the fire outbreak at the shopping complex on Tuesday night, barely 10 hours after similar incident occured at the Afriland Tower at Broad Street, Lagos Island.
While the Afriland Tower’s fire was quickly curtailed with occupants of the eight-storey building rescued, traders and shop owners mourned their loss at the Central Plaza as they helplessly watched the inferno spread across their shops.
The fire which reportedly started at a show room on the last floor of the complex could not be curtailed, leading to it rapid spread across other floors.
Several videos shared on X on Wednesday showed the building completely engulfed in flames which lit up the dark night.
Another video of the scene captured this morning showed the fire still burning in some parts of the complex as traders helplessly watched on.
The cause of the incident is largely unknown as at the time of filing this report.
