The African Democratic Congress’ (ADC) mobilisation wing, ADC Vanguard, has raised alarm over President Bola Tinubu’s alleged plan to appoint a senior judge of the Appeal Court, Justice Abdullahi Liman, as the new Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Chairman.
With the tenure of the current INEC Chairman, Prof. Yakubu Mahmood, billed to end on the 9th of November 2025, Liman had alongside several other unconfirmed names being tipped to replace the outgoing chairman.
The ADC Vanguard had however expressed concern over the possible emergence of Liman as the new chairman of the electoral commission.
The group in a post shared on its official X handle on Saturday said accused Liman of being an ally of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, and former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje.
It alleged that his appointment would overturn the credibility of the forthcoming 2027 General Election by allegedly rigging the election.
The ADC Vanguard warned Nigerians against walking into another disaster with the appointment of Liman.
