Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has finally paid a visit to Oke Ode and other neighbouring communities in Ifelodun Local Government Area after prolonged killing of residents by suspected bandits.
NPO Reported that the Oke Ode community had on Sunday come under heavy attack by armed bandits with over 15 people, including vigilante members killed.
The attack had on Tuesday led to mass evacuation as residents flee the community.
With the development sparking public outrage and calls for government intervention, AbdulRahman on Thursday arrived at the community.
The governor was accompanied by security commanders and top government officials.
As captured in a video made available to NPO Reports, AbdulRahman was surrounded by members of the community as their leaders and security officials briefed the governor on the incident.
Addressing some leaders of the community, AbdulRahman reportedly reassured the community of government’s continuous support and solidarity amid renewed efforts to protect lives and properties of the people.
The governor is also billed to meet with leaders from Edu and Patigi LGAs later today to brief them on the efforts of the administration, Federal Government, and security agencies to keep the people safe.
