•Preaches Love, Freedom of Religion
President Bola Tinubu has called for love and freedom of religion as he preached against religious hatred.
Tinubu made the call during his address at the funeral of late Lydia Yilwatda, mother of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, in, Jos, Plateau state capital.
Addressing the congregation at the funeral service on Saturday, Tinubu harped on the need for religious tolerance, citing his marriage to First Lady Oluremi Tinubu as an example.
“Hate is not an option for us. Love is what we preach and we should love one another. Nobody determine what God has ordained.
“God’s ordained actions and His prophecies are what matters.
“I inherited Islam from my family and I didn’t change. But my wife is a Pastor. She prays for me.
“No conflict and I never at any single time convince her or convert her.
“I believe in the freedom of religion. We are praying to the same God. We are answerable to the same Almighty God.
“We will answer to Him. We will account to Him. Our love to our fellow being is what is important.” Tinubu said.
The President thereafter prayed for the acceptance of the late Lydia’s soul.
“May Almighty accept the soul of Lydia and give all that she left behind a blessing and glory. May her soul rest in peace.” He added.
