Olalekan Badmus, the Special Adviser on Media to Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has warned the United Bank of Africa’s against releasing the withheld local governments fund of the state to the sacked All Progressives Congress (APC) council chairmen.
The governor’s aide gave the warning in a post shared on his X handle on Saturday.
With a copy of ongoing lawsuit over the withheld fund attached to the post, Olalekan held that attempt by the UBA to release the fund under litigation will harm the reputation of the bank.
He charged to UBA’s management to continue resisting the every pressure from political actors to access the fund until the Supreme Court sitting over the case on the 7th of October.
The post read; “It is important to reiterate to @UBAGroup that any attempt to release the Osun local government fund currently subject of litigation at the Supreme Court will cause serious harm to the reputation of the bank.
“There are subsiding court orders for continuous freezing of the account until the determination of the court. @TonyOElumelu and the @UBAGroup must continue to resist every pressure from political actors to access the fund before the Supreme Court sitting coming up in the 7th October.
“We must insist on total adherence to rule of law and constitutional democracy.”
