The university don, who was also a pro-democracy activist and official of the Civil Liberties Organization in the 90s, lauded the late Aremu’s commitment to the cause of democracy and freedom in Nigeria while many of his generation pursued wealth.
“That’s so sad. Nigeria has lost one of the most foremost left strategists. Comrade Aremson is one of the most committed and ever-present leaders in the movement in Nigeria.
“He was such a consistent and inspiring leader for many generations. While many in his generation pursued wealth, he made the cause of democracy and freedom in Nigeria his primary concern.
“History will definitely be kind to him. May all our ancestors who traversed this land and fought for freedom before him and alongside him welcome him with open arms. Adieu Aremson” Adunbi wrote.
