A suspected thief, who allegedly steals car parts in Lekki area of Lagos and sell to off takers in Ladipo market, has been arrested.
This was disclosed in a video shared on Instagram on Sunday.
The suspect, who hailed from Imo state and simply identified himself as Jude Onuha, was apprehended by security operatives in Lekki Phase 1.
While being probed in the video following his arrest, the suspect narrated how he alongside four other members of his gang operates, using a Mercedes Benz car jack as a rifle.
Jude demonstrated how he uses a spanner to scratch the body of the car jack to give a gun cocking sound to scare people away.
He disclosed that they have only operated in Lekki twice since his return to Lagos from his village last week.
According to him, they only targeted Hilux vehicles, stealing their brainbox, AC vent, and door buttons which they sell at Ladipo market to one Dona.
When asked on the duration it takes them to vandalise a vehicle, he claim to often stay with the security operatives while others do the operation
Jude however said it usually the gang about 10 to 15 minutes to operate on a vehicle.
“It takes us about 10 to 15 minutes and only take the brainbox, buttons, and air vent.
“Dona is one that always buy the market from us in Ladipo” He said.
Jude disclosed that he is a generator engineer and had only arrived in Lagos last year due to low patronage in his hometown in Owerri, Imo state capital.
