The Kebbi State Government has returned the 24 schoolgirls abducted from the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School (GGCSS) in Maga area of the state back to their families following their rescue.
NPO earlier Reported that the state government had on Monday morning received the schoolgirls from the military troop attached to the Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
They handed over the state governor, Nasir Idris, by the troop’s Theatre Commander, Major General Warrah Idris.
In the wake of the handing over, the Kebbi state governor facilitated the return of the students back to the respective homes.
Nasir Idris spearheaded the return of the students who were, as seen in a video shared on X, dressed in new clothes and uniformed hijab before being ushered into a waiting vehicle by the state government officials.
Recall that the students were last week Friday abducted from their hostels by armed bandits.
The gunmen who stormed the school in the early hours of the day killed the school security personnel and Vice Principal during the attack.
