Three Lagos-based company employees have been docked over alleged N10.27 million theft from their employer.
The Addas Ultimate Limited company employees identified as Adebola Adeaga (46), Benjamin Oladeji (36), and and Collins EnaimoniAdeaga (28) were on Friday arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court where they currently standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
When the charge was read to the defendants, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court that the offences were committed between the months of August and September at Addas Ultimate Limited, Ikeja.
He alleged that the defendants collected N10.27 million from the company’s cashier and failed to remit it into the company’s account.
According to him, the fraud was discovered when an external auditor was invited.
The prosecutor said the defendants could not account for the money.
He said the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr L. A. Owolabi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N800,000 each with two sureties in like sum.
Owolabi adjourned the case until December 18 for mention.
