A mammoth crowd have on Friday stormed Bauchi to witness the burial of late Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
NPO Reported that Usman-Bauchi passed away at the age of 101 in the early hours of Thursday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi.
While confirming his death, the family of the renowned Islamic scholar had announced that he will be buried in in line with Islamic rites.
Ahead of the burial, the Bauchi state government had declared Friday a work-free day to enable public and private sector workers, students and residents of the state, to participate in the funeral prayer and pay their last respect to the late scholar.
The state government also announced that the prayer for the deceased will be held at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.
As anticipated, the stadium was heavily crowded with overflow.
Video shared on X showed the crowd stretching across the bridge and road that led to the stadium.
