Super Eagles Coach, Eric Chelle, has released a 54-man provisional list of players ahead of the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
This was announced in a post shared on the Nigerian national team’s official X handle on Tuesday.
As seen in the post, Chelle had shortlisted six goalkeepers, 13 defenders, 12 midfielders, and 23 forwards ahead of the tournament which will commence on the 21st of December in Morocco.
Making the list of shortlisted goalkeepers alongside first-choice, Stanley Nwabali, are Francis Uzoho, Maduka Okoye, Amas Obasogie, Ebenezer Harcourt, and Adebayo Adeleye.
The defence on the other hand boasted of players like Clavin Bassey, William Troost-Ekong, Bruno Onyemaechi, and Ola Aina amongst others.
Joining the likes of Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, and Alex Iwobi, in the midfield are Alhassan Yusuf, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Christanus Uche, and Tom Dele-Bashiru.
Meanwhile, the attack spearheaded by Victor Osimehn boasted of the likes of Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Tolu Arokodare, as well as return of Taiwo Aowniyi amongst others.
