Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has finally hearkened to calls for his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as he formally dumped the party.
Mutfwang, in a letter addressed to his Ward Chairman, announced the withdrawal of his membership.
As contained in the letter dated 29th December 2025, the governor cited the ongoing leadership within the party and need for clarity of direction as reasons for his withdrawal from the party.
He however expressed his gratitude to the party for giving him the platform under which he was elected.
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the PDP with immediate effect.
“I sincerely appreciate the PDP for providing me the political platform to participate in the democratic process.
“I acknowledge the support of party leaders, members, and supporters at all levels during my time in the party, and I remain grateful for the trust reposed in me.
“Given the realities of the moment and guided by my commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and service delivery.
“I am compelled to seek an alternative political platform.
“Please, accept the assurances of my highest regards.”
