The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has handed over N1.27 billion recovered from Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited to the Enugu State Government.
This is coming is nearly a year after the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Olasijibomi Ogundele, was accused of defrauding the state of close to N6 billion meant for the construction of Smart Green Schools.
NPO Reported that the EFCC had in September declared Ogundele wanted following a petition filed against him by the Enugu state government.
The state government accused the Sujimoto CEO of abandoned project after he was paid the said sum for the construction of 22 Smart Green Schools in different parts of the state.
While Sujimoto had since been arrested by the EFCC, the commission on Wednesday handed over the money recovered from him to the state government in form of cheque.

Reaffirming its stance, the Enugu State Government said it remains resolute in recovering all funds allegedly taken by the contractor.
The EFCC also assured that further recoveries are underway as investigations continue.
