A 62-year-old Lagos busnessman, Izueke Nicholas, has excreted 95 wraps of cocaine following his arrest by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at Kano airport while travelling to China.
NDLEA spokesman, Mr Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, said the drugs, weighing 1.589kg, were concealed in the suspect’s stomach.
Babafemi said the suspect was arrested on January 31 during outward clearance for an Ethiopian Airlines flight to China via Addis Ababa.
He explained that the suspect tested positive during screening and was placed under excretion observation.
“While under observation, he expelled 95 pellets of cocaine in seven excretions,” Babafemi said.
According to him, the suspect claimed he trafficked drugs to raise money to complete his country home in Iwollo, Enugu State.
Meanwhile, NDLEA operatives recovered 627.7kg of skunk from a makeshift warehouse at Fums Plaza in Kubwa, Abuja.
A 29-year-old Beninoise, Shuaibu Abdulrahman, was on Thursday arrested atIbudo-Igboho village, Sooro Kishi, Oyo state, where they recovered 149.6kg Skunk concealed in rice shafts.
In a separate operation carred out on Wednesday in Ibadan, a suspect Adeniyi Adeola (a.k.a Prince) was nabbed at Foko, Agbeni market, with 10,820 ampoules of pentazocine injection and 117,820 capsules of tramadol recovered from his truck marked BDJ 767 YC include.
Also in Ibadan, a drug kingpin Jimoh Nurudeen, 40, who owns a facility where he produces Colorado, a synthetic cannabis, was on Saturday arrested at Badeku area of the Oyo capital city, along with his accomplice Ogundipe Yusuf, 27.
Recovered from them were eight litres of precursor chemical; 14 grams of skunk and other paraphernalia of Colos production, as well as monetary exhibit of N7.4 million and two vehicles: a Mercedes Benz SUV marked ABC 832 AZ and a Toyota Highlander with registration number RBC 243 BS.
