The Governor of Oyo, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Thursday emerged the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for a second term in office.
At the primary election held at the state capital on Thursday, Makinde polled 1,040 against 2 votes scored by former Deputy Governor Hazeem Gbolarumi.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Hon Abdulahi Hussein, while declaring Makinde the winner said he secured the highest number of votes cast.
In his immediate response, Makinde said he thanked all the delegates for the choices they made.
“I am coming here today to witness the endorsement and my election as your flag bearer for the 2023 elections. What else can I say other than “Thank you.”
