Operatives attached to Oyo State Police Command have on Monday raided an Oke-Ogun Polytechnic students’ hostel in Saki area of the state with a now viral video capturing the arrest and assault of some of the students picked up during the raid.
The video shared on X showed the policemen forcing the students into their van amid while repeatedly assaulting him.
They were alleged to have burgled into the hostel with clips showing some windows of the students’ room allegedly damaged by security operatives.
Another clip in the video showed one of the students’ rooms with a broken ceiling allegedly done by the police during the raid.
The development had sparked mixed reactions from netizens who condemned the excessive use of force by the officers- a situation they considered now common between police officers when dealing with students.
