An Ibadan-based man has been captured physically assaulting his wife following a misunderstanding between the couple.
The yet-to-be identified man could be seen in a video shared on Instagram on Wednesday beating his wife in the presence of their daughter.
Despite the girl’s plea to leave her mother, the man continued the assault, dragging his wife around the living room.
The video had sparked outrage from netizens who called for his arrest.
Some expressed concern over the traumatic impact the incident will have on the children.
“No matter what she may have done, it’s better to let her go than to inflict pain on her. Think about how deeply this will affect the children. Many girls grow up wanting nothing to do with men because of the trauma caused by a deadbeat father. Don’t create wounds that will follow them for the rest of their lives.”@jimi_sestain
“I cried watching this 😭. It brought back memories of what I suffered at early stage of my marriage. Mine is with belt and I had a small baby then. I still waited to have two kids more. Thank God we didn’t look like what we passed through. Gbogbo e ti di itan bayi.”@alagaiyawo
“Those kids are damaged already 😢”@bolanle_afolabi
“In front of your children 💔🤦🏻♂️ I’m heart broken 💔 those children will be traumatized for the rest of their life 😭💔💔”@kunle_visuals
“Reason there are so many single mothers, she finally gets strength to leave society will mock her! Omo leave to live ooooooo”@dabbychimere
“Where are does who say th3 mothers kept the children away from their father. This is the perfect example of why. 20 yrs from now that child will still remember. But that animal if a man would say he doesn’t know why his children went ” no contact ” with him.”@lolasoboharris
“The painful part is he will still beg and the woman go still forgive and continue with this kind of life”@oni_ipanu
“Na woman dey start all this nonsense but daddy the beating is too much. Small beat is okay then leave house before u are back her head go don settle just go for 3 days pere”@easykov21
“You don’t jump into conclusion if you actually didn’t get what prompted the disturbing situation. Most y’all comment seemed to be caring might even don’t know how to indulge partnership or some of you left your partner because of your bad character. Nawah for who judge sceneries they don’t know about.”@moral_vibes101
