The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has declared movement restriction across the capital city ahead of the Area Council Election slated to hold on Saturday.
Miller Dantawaye, the FCT Police Commissioner made the announcement in a statement issued on Friday by the Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh.
As contained in the statement, movement across the FCT will be restricted from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday in view of the scheduled Area Council Elections.
The restriction will apply to all residents except essential service providers and duly accredited election officials.
The FCT Police Command urged residents to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and cooperate with security agencies to ensure a safe, free, and credible electoral process.
It also charged members of the public to report any suspicious persons or activities through the Command’s emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08061581938.
