Some party agents have clashed with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abaji Area Council over late arrival at their polling unit.
The party agents, attached to the Abaji East Primary School Polling Unit 003 in Nuku/ Sabon Gari Ward, reportedly confronted the INEC officials following their arrival around 7:46am on Saturday for the commencement of the 2026 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council Election.
They accused the officials of taking the election materials to somewhere different before arriving at the polling unit.
The party agents refused to allow the INEC officials set up their materials for the commencement of the election.
However, security operatives, according to reports, are currently trying to resolve the matter.
Meanwhile, INEC had in its released timetable for the election slated that election is to commence from 8:30am to 2:30am.
This had however failed to be the case as INEC officials are yet to arrive at several polling units across the capital city.
