The 2023 Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has escaped an assassination attempt as suspected hoodlums attacked his convoy with several escort vehicles vandalised.
As disclosed in a post shared on X on Tuesday by the Obidient Movement’s National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, the convoy came under attack in Benin city, the state’s capital, while on their way from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Secretariat where the 2024 Edo Governorship candidate for Labour Party, Olumide Akpata, declared his defection to the ADC.

According to Tanko, the armed hoodlums opened fire at the convoy, in what was described as an assassination attempt, on arrival their arrival at the residence of former governor of the state and ADC chieftain, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
